Daddy Daughter Date

A few weeks ago we got the idea to start doing dad/kid dates. I say we because I don’t remember who came up with the idea other than the fact that it wasn’t me. AJ is very much a big fan of krispy kreme or as she affectionately called it the “Donut Store”. Here are a few pics from the evening.

Bobby McFerrin

I have always loved Bobby McFerrin and been amazed at his musical ability since the overplayed “Don’t Worry Be Happy” single came out. This video is just one of the reasons I continue to be amazed.

Lame…

ksl.com – Court orders man to pay towing bill on car he doesn’t own.

I know there are so many good people out there, but this was one of those “What is this world coming to!” moments.  does that make me old?

Ode to Mommy

Ultimately there really isn’t much I can say or write that will accurately convey my gratitude for my wifey, the mother of our children.  So, I guess that I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

See what wonderful children they turned out to be?…

All joking aside, I love my wifey and think that she is a wonderful mommy!  One of my gifts to her is not putting any embarrassing photo’s on this blog post. (I should get major brownie points for that!)  Thank you for all you do for all of us!

Lame Post.

I know this will be a lame post, but I have been devoid of any good idea’s on which to post so here I go…  I am about to run to REI to pick up a couple of sleeping bags for the kids.  For me this is a pretty big deal.  I used to be much more of an outdoor fanatic than I am currently, and I am excited about passing along some of the outdoor experience to my kids.  I received a fairly large gift certificate a while ago and just couldn’t decide where to spend it.  Well, luckily for me REI had a sale on some good kids bags, and coupled with the gift certificate we were able to get 2 good colder weather (3 season bags) for what you normally would pay for the ones from Wal-mart and or Target that are really great for sleepovers but that’s about it.

Anyway, there are a myriad of places I want to go this summer, and I am hoping that the kids will love it too.  Holler if you have an interest to go as well.  ;)

Calf Creek Falls

Zion National Park

Bryce Canyon

Moab (in the fall if I am in better Mtn Biking shape)

Snow Canyon

Provo Falls (Kari has been here many times, but I haven’t yet.)

Any other recommendations?

Utah Lake Commission FYI

Utah Lake

Utah Lake

For those who are interested here is the master plan for Utah Lake by the Utah Lake commission.  I haven’t had a chance to read all of it yet, but I believe that there is only a 45 day public comment period and it has to be about a month since they released it.  I really do hope they can change the lake for the better.

The sacredness of Mormon Temples

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (AKA the Mormons).  I have read some of the ramblings on the Internet concerning the portrayal of LDS Temple ceremonies in HBO’s television series “Big Love”.  I am not at all familiar with this show, or the network so I do not feel that I can in good conscience  degrade it.  However, I do know how important to me it is that Temple ceremonies are kept sacred.  A well known comment within the LDS church is that the Temple is “sacred, not secret”.  Because of the amazing spiritual experiences that can be  had in the temple, I believe it is paramount that these ceremonies continue to stay sacred.  I don’t really have any strong feelings towards actions to HBO, or the proponents of this show, but I really do hope that if enough people show enough disinterest that maybe HBO and any others will find less controversy and move on to better things.  All this being said I did want to share what the LDS church has on their website for those who hadn’t had the chance to see it.

The Publicity Dilemma

And a good source of information for all on Mormon temples can be found here:
